Just a short one today. Inspiration courtesy of the blog post number, 115. When I was much younger, my family lived in the USA for a while due to my dad’s work. On the first day of school, I was ushered out the front door towards a queue of kids in the street. With some confusion and reluctance, I quietly joined the queue and stood patiently.
Moments later, along comes the number 115 school bus. It was big, bright yellow, had a loud engine, and an awesome barrier and stop sign that swung out when it arrived. To 9 year old English me, this was pretty much the coolest thing in the world.
At the end of the day, the teacher asked me whether I was looking forward to going home or not. I must’ve replied “yes” with enormous enthusiasm because an hour later, my parents got a call from the school and had to explain that I hadn’t had a terrible time on my first day. I was just absolutely buzzing for the bus ride home.
P.S. I’d like to tell you about something awesome that I got to see at work today, but I’m not sure that I’m allowed. Sorry but tbc…
